Gregg Lopez Gregg was a dump
trailer driver for teamsters local 282 on September 11, 2001. After
seeing the towers collapse from the construction site he was on. Gregg
attempted to assist in the rescue and recovery efforts. He was turned
away but let through the next morning. For the first 3 days, Gregg mostly
worked on body bags and bucket brigade. He emmediatly suffered a sore
throat and cough. Gregg was part of the cleanup at Ground Zero for 11
months. In October 2002, Gregg had to stop working completely. Gregg
suffers from sever PTSD, chronic rhinitis and sinusitis, 2 nodules on
his lung, ground glass in his lung, pulmonary fibrosis, emphysema, ulsers
of the stomach, Barretts and bilateral hearing loss. He has started
recieving some workers compensation benefits. Though his case is not
settled. |
